"The Federal Reserve Note, not secured by government bonds, precious metals, or other reserves, is the only type of U.S. paper money which continues in production today. They were authorized by the Federal Reserve Act of December 23, 1913, and first issued in 1914. While Federal Reserve Notes are issued through the 12 Federal Reserve Banks, they are an obligation of the United States Government rather than the bank named on the note."  Card measures 10" x 8".
